India cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara and his wife Puja get the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday. Pujara also asked fans to get vaccinated as soon as possible as the country continues to struggle against the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Pujara shared snaps of him and his wife taking the vaccine jab. “Puja and I got our first dose of the vaccine today. Urge each one of you to try and get yours too if eligible,” he wrote.

Pujara recently returned home after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the suspension of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mid-way. BCCI’s announcement came after the IPL bio-bubble was breached and several players tested positive for the virus.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli also received the first dose of the vaccine on Monday. The flamboyant batsman shared a picture of himself in his Instagram Stories and wrote, “Vaccinate as soon as you can please. Stay safe.”

Ace Indian seamer Ishant Shamra and wife Pratima Singh also got vaccinated on Monday.

Ishant thanked the frontline workers for their services in these tough times.
